| Is it possible that the people who appear to be closest to God are sometimes actually the farthest from Him? Sometimes it is so possible that people try so hard to know God that they end up not knowing Him at all. I have to check myself on this all the time: There may be a genuine desire inside myself to pursue God, but often I pursue the "things" of God instead. In my pursuit of these "things," often I miss out on God. This reminds me of the Pharisee. These people were driven by "doing." They DID religious thing, but ulitmately they were religious fanatics who were legalistic about the law. Christianity is NOT a strict adherence to a legal code (law). Christianity is about a life that is lived under the LORDSHIP of the very one who gives me breath. | | |
